Only one MRM can be installed in a Wave. Only an MRM-A can be installed on an IP 500. These instructions apply only to an ISC3 Wave IP 500. (For an IP 2500 see Install an MRM on an ISC3 Wave IP 2500.)
- Shutdown the Wave properly (either from Global Administrator, or by pressing and holding the red Shutdown button on the front of the Wave.
- Take note of the all cables and connectors plugged in to the front of the ISC. Disconnect them.
- Unplug the Wave Server’s power cord, but do not disconnect the grounding wire.
- Using a Phillips-head screwdriver, unscrew all screws on the top cover of the Wave. There are three on each side and two on the back edge. Take care to keep all of the screws together. They are easy to lose.
- Slide the cover backwards and then lift it off.
- To the left of the power supply, there is an open slot for the MRM with a blue ribbon connector and four standoffs.
- Align the MRM over the standoffs. The ribbon cable coming out of the card will be away from the ISC and face to the right.
- Fasten the 4 retention screws in the corner holes to attach the MRM to the ISC. Plug the MRM ribbon connector into connector P2 (the light-blue 40-pin socket) on the ISC2.
- Slide the top cover back onto the Wave (there are unpainted flanges that will slide into the front of the Wave.) Screw all 8 screws back into place.
- Plug the power cable back in and make sure the red power rocker switch on the back of the Wave is in the on position.
- Press the red power button on the front of the Wave to boot.
- You can verify the MRM is correctly installed by logging in to Global Administrator (see Log in to GA) and very under IP Network Settings that the MRM is appearing. You will need to enter an IP address or address for the new MRM (one for MRM-A, two for MRM-B, three for MRM-C.)
